OPSCI is a project of kdsay labs inc. It provides tools for exploring Ontario public-sector salary disclosures and related analysis.

Understanding the information

The original disclosures are reported by employers. OPSCI adds employee matching, job groupings and other estimates to help people explore patterns over time.

Errors may occur in the original records or in our analysis. The data is not a complete workforce list, and annual pay can be affected by overtime, leave, partial-year work and other circumstances. Please read About the data when interpreting the results.

Using the results

Use OPSCI as a starting point for research and comparison. Check the source records and relevant context before relying on a result for an important decision or publishing a claim about an individual.

Rankings show disclosed pay, not job performance. Linked histories and other estimates may contain errors.

Independence

OPSCI is independent of the Ontario government and the employers shown. Inclusion on the site does not imply their endorsement.

Corrections and updates

We may update records, matching rules, job groups and calculations as the data or methods change. If you believe something is wrong, please contact us.

Reusing OPSCI data

You may quote, cite and share individual figures, charts and short extracts from OPSCI, including in news reporting, research and teaching, as long as you credit “OPSCI.ca” and, where practical, link to the page you used.

Please don't copy OPSCI in bulk, for example by scraping or systematically downloading pages or exports, and don't republish or resell its linked records, job groups or derived measures as a dataset, without our written permission. To ask about wider use, contact us.

The underlying salary disclosures are published by the Government of Ontario under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996. This section covers OPSCI's own analysis; it doesn't grant or restrict any rights to the original government records.
